From the desk

We look at the city the way a regular does — by its routines, not its landmarks.

SIDEWALK keeps a record of the ordinary: the table you always get, the stop you almost miss, the sign that has been repainted more than once. Issue 047 collects eight of those observations.

About the journal

Made for the walk home.

SIDEWALK is a fictional neighborhood journal. We publish close readings of everyday city life — places that stay open late, routes worth taking slowly, and people who keep things in use.

The issue is set like a small broadsheet: numbered stories, visible rules, and room to read. Use the index to search the headlines or choose a topic. Anything you save stays in your reading list while this page is open.

Content note

All stories, people, and places in this issue are invented for a design exercise. The photographs are illustrative stock images, not documentary evidence of the events described.
